2 in a row!

No one likes to lose games and what can be more disheartening to carry the burden of not getting even a single success in 18 years! Well, the spell of misfortune on RCB was already lifted last year when the IPL team of Bengaluru lifted their maiden trophy in 2025. Guess what, they have done it again this year. Thanks to their unwavering dedication and perseverance, along with their indefatigable spirit, they are able to bring the cup home two years in a row! Is a hattrick in the corner? Let's see. This year's IPL saw some spectacular performances from many cricket stars. The tournament this year was a spectrum of emotions and uncertainty. While the fans while supporting their favourite teams never left any stone unturned, the teams were also seen reciprocating the love in unimaginable ways, as was evident in the case of Gujarat Titans for instance. The chronology of the points table this year was much unpredictable. Until the first half of the tournament, it was evident as to which teams were going to the playoffs but that expectation didn't last long as the second half of the tournament saw teams like Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, who were quite below in the table climbing up the ladder. Punjab Kings led by the maestro, Shreyas Iyer started losing multiple matches in a row in the second half. This was shocking as they maintained a streak of 7 wins in a row which was quite a record in IPL history. The youngster, Vaibhav Suryawanshi who is just 15, shone bright throughout the tournament as the hit fastest half century off just 15 balls in two distinct matches and also finished as the highest run scorer with the purple cap on his head. He was one of the most valuable players of the tournament. Apart from his prowess, 4 other players in IPL this season also flabbergasted the spectators with their electrifying performances. Bhubaneshwar Kumar, the speedster with a special blessing for swing won the hearts of many. He is undoubtedly one of the best players, not only in IPL, but also in the Indian team. With past records of being the orange cup winner in two seasons of the Indian Premier League, he is one hell of a sportsman to deal with. Shreyas Iyer, who led the Punjab Kings phenomenally, which led them to win 7 matches back-to-back in a row, was undoubtedly an impactful player. Muhammad Siraj and Rashid Khan were other stars of the 5 most impactful players of the tournament. The second half of the tournament completely changed the collective momentum of the tournament with the pacing altering the rankings of the teams in the points table in unfathomable ways. Although, KKR did show their bravery, the three times winner of the IPL failed to go to the playoffs. Finally, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans qualified for the playoffs. In the Qualifier-1, RCB made GT bite the dust to go straight to the finals. While GT had to defeat RR in Qualifier-2 to make their way in the finals, once again to face RCB. The win of RR against SRH in the Eliminator went in vain. The D-Day witnessed a very low total made by GT. Undoubtedly it was a cake walk for RCB to chase the low target but they did it in style with King Kohli striking an unbeaten 75 off his bat to lead the Royal Challengers to victory to once again lift the cup two times straight in a row.
