A day at the convention hall

So, it all started on the very early morning of a Sunday. I set the alarm the previous night at 4:30 am and collapsed but can't seem to recall waking up to it rather woke up naturally at 4:42 am. I was in a minor panic mode when I quickly collected myself and went for the freshening up activities. After having a nice bath, got ready, packed my bag pack and did my breakfast at around 5 am. After all these, without wasting any further moment, I went out of my house to catch the train scheduled to arrive at 5:47 am. After boarding the train, I found it to be surprisingly less crowded which was not that much unlikely given the local time and the day of the week. En route to the destination, I got a call from one of my friend who asked if I would like to step off at a previous station for going together through a different route but since I was not comfortable in taking the less common route I said that my train had already went past that station. Instead, I asked him to call me once he lands near the head office from where we were supposed to board the bus to the convention hall. Likewise, I went through the route of my liking which involved changing train one more time and taking an auto-rickshaw to land near the head office. By the time I reached, very few had arrived there. I called many including the one who called me while I was on train but all of them were far behind. One was about to take a bath, while another was still in the auto-rickshaw queue. Upon entering the head office, I noticed visitors gushing through the front main door one after the other. The guards asked them to go sit in the third floor but remained steadfast and patiently waited for my friend. We immediately rushed to the first floor room and waited there patiently till the buses arrived. Meanwhile, others also arrived. We all collectively went down and a small segment of our group boarded bus no. 80 and headed for the convention hall. Although we were told that it would take around one and a half hour to reach the convention hall, it surprisingly took us a little less than an hour to land there. No sooner did we land there, than we saw the bus with the other segment of our group enter the complex. We took some groupfies, assessed the ambience and went inside the air-conditioned convention hall. After toiling around a bit, we went inside the main hall where the actual program was going to get started. It was a large single floor hall with numerous decorated chairs and a stage at the extreme front end of the enclosure. The stage had large screens, podium, metallic support structures and what not. We were handed a pamphlet with some oath say-along for achieving success. At the very left end of the hall, we could see some food stalls catering kachories, patties, sandwich, etc. The program started with the national song and the national anthem. Shortly after the introductory speech, the chairman of the organization came and he also delivered a speech. After that, out of nowhere a big political leader of the ruling party arrived and he was greeted as well as accompanied by the chairman to his seat in the front row. Soon after, we saw a patriotic performance and then unexpectedly, we were made to listen to PM's "Mann Ki Baat". Then the political party leader delivered a speech in his own style. As the program progressed somewhat more, the leader left the program and he was accompanied by the chairman to the exit. One of my friends even managed to take a selfie with the political leader. After some time, we grew restless as we were hungry and there was still no announcement for lunch. So, we went towards the food stall and tried kachories with dum aloo for fifty bucks. The quality of the food was standard. After we came back to our seats and watched the program a bit more, we came to know the lunch packets being given. So, we hurriedly lined up at the queue to collect the chicken biryani packets. After receiving the packets, we started eating the biryani but soon I realized that there were no chicken pieces inside it, only a few scattered bones and biryani rice! This enraged me and I instantly knew that I was cheated. The rage turned into sorrow when I saw that many others got chicken pieces. Although one of my friends also shared the same fate as mine, there was nothing we could do that day since all the packets came sealed and there was no way of knowing what was inside. It was indeed our bad luck! After having our lunch, we came back to our seats and started chatting as the program was growing boring. Gradually, we started playing games with each other on our smartphones like ludo, chain reaction, etc. After a while, a singer came. She was Lagnajita Chakraborty. I was continuously recording videos of each and every of her performances, god knows why! She performed for one and a half hour but I couldn't listed to her last two songs as I was growing tired and went out of the hall with two of my friends and started waiting for the bus. I boarded the bus for my locality instead of going with them back to the head office since that was irrelevant. I didn't liked the bus since it was full of unknown people and they were chattering a lot which made me uncomfortable. Nevertheless, I endured their nonsense bravely as it was free direct ride and finally reached back to my locality, boarded the train after walking to the train station and came back to my home. So, that was how I passed my whole day and one thing which I forgot to say was that it was my first time visiting that convention hall. Alongside that, there were many new things which I came to know. Overall, it was a decent experience better than sitting idle at home which many of my other friends did that day :)
